What is The Outlaw Triathlon?

Me on the bike section Running up hill 60 for the 1st time! Swim exit

Legend has it that Outlaws roamed the forests of Nottinghamshire robbing from the rich to give to the poor. They were fast and cunning on foot, skillful horsemen and possessed exceptional endurance to outrun the evil sheriff’s men.

In modern times, Outlaws swim, bike and run. They undertake the world’s toughest one day endurance challenge, and those who complete it are celebrated, even by the Sheriff of Nottingham!

Outlaws have phenomenal lung capacity and technique to swim across a 2.4mile stretch of the Holme Pierrepont Lake before jumping on to their steeds to speed around Nottinghamshire on two wheels. The fast undulating 112mile cycle route takes them through south Nottinghamshire into the rolling green north of the county and Sherwood Forest.

They cover immense ground, passing parks, parishes and country homes at breathtaking speeds around north Nottinghamshire before returning to Holme Pierrepont to don their running shoes and make for the world famous Trent Bridge and Victoria Embankment. Four laps keep them in close contact with the supporting towns-folk, who will cheer them all the way along their gruelling 26.2 mile marathon run along the river banks to the fabled finish line.

On arrival they will receive a heroes welcome and be crowned modern day Outlaws.

Nottingham’s world famous hostelries will be available to serve fine foods and celebratory ales to the Outlaws until the sun finally sets on a spectacular day of triathlon racing.

If you think you’re up to the challenge, join 1000 other would-be Outlaws taking on Britain’s premier long-distance triathlon in Nottingham, UK.
